A 300Level Student Of University Of Jos Died During The Jos Civil Unrest

Mantim Jerry Binkur was a student of Computer science in the University of Jos Nigeria.

It was gathered that he was returning from his industrial attachment and got stock in the midst of the fight along Zololo, a Muslim based area in Jos. Mantim was stabbed.

According to his friends in the university posting condolence messages on social media, they say Mantim is a very dedicated student and was aspiring for the President of National Association of Tarok Students.

A fellow Comrade wrote an open letter to the Government and Nnamdi Kanu.

OPEN LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR OF PLATEAU STATE,IPOB LEADER (NNAMDI KANU),FESOSA AND KOSA FAMILY,JOSSITE AND THE TAROK NATION.
“I have been left with no option but to write this letter in respect to the reaction on the agitation by the IPOB members that is currently threatening our peaceful coexistence and disrupting the existing peace on the Plateau that lead to the killing of one of our own a brother and friend to many in person of MANTIM BINKUR JERRY a student of the department of computer science, Faculty of Natural Science,University of Jos. Who was stapped to death along Zololo axis.
As peace loving people on the Plateau with a heavy heart in regard to this write to appreciate the government for it efforts to stabilize the peace and to also call for more efforts by both the government and good people of Plateau state and to also inform the government of this recent development not because they can restore the lost life but for them to take majors that will avoid similar happening and also call on the government to identify with the family of the deceased (BINKUR’S).In this time of sorrow.
To Nnamdi Kanu unless we learn to live together as brothers we will all perish as fools, I am using this medium to plead that may the death of our love ones (innocent souls) be a reason of restoring peace to our loving Country may the death of of the innocent souls, the labour of our heroes (MANTIM JERRY BINKUR )should never be in vain.
To FESOSITE’S,KOSITE’S,JOSSITE’S and the TAROK NATION .
As painful as this incident has presented itself, I still want to use this medium to plead with us all that we should be law abiding and we should not allow our emotions to drive our action but instead we should pray to God to help us bear this lost because two wrong can never make a right, I pledge to Nigeria my country TO DEFEND HER UNITY,AMEN. May the soul of our brother and friend to many rest in perfect peace with the Lord, Amen.”
