African Country Tanzania which detests homosexuality has re-arrested 12 people who were arrested last week at a hotel but were released on bail are currently held again at Dares Salaam’s central police station as they await legal charges.
They were arrested for presumed promotion of homosexuality. The 12 people includes two south Africans and one Ugandan.
Majority of the 12 are said to be part of the non-governmental organisation Community Health Education Services and Advocacy. Their lawyer Jebra Kombole said they were first arrested as they sought a legal consultation to challenge the government over its decision to restrict healthcare services to LGBT community members.
