President Buhari Rejects Peace Corps Bill

President buharis has refused to sign Peace Corps Bill, the bill was passed by the national Assembly in 2017 after prolonged meetings and agreement involving the organization and security agencies, the Peace Corps Bill was highly anticipated by youths and was seen to reduce unemployment.

The President noted in a letter which was sent to senators /lawmakers and read during the plenary session today by the speaker of house of representatives ,he cited his reasons of not signing the bill and blamed As a financial burden to the federal government.

According to the President :

There is “scarce government resource ” and funding the organization will be a financial burden to the federal government.
